For a huge range of fun, inspiring and calming events and activities sure to help un-frazzle people of all ages and interests this summer, check out what’s on the agenda at Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden.
Environment Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said there was always so much to see, do, explore, learn and appreciate at the Garden.
“As well as the opportunity to connect with nature as you explore the beautiful 82 hectare garden supporting the native plants and wildlife, you can also participate in regular group walks or book into one of numerous events and workshops,” Cr McKay said.
“If it’s the children who need some entertainment (and the parents need a well-earned break) there are a number of fun and informative ‘Nature Connections’ workshops to choose from.
“These include transforming recycled materials into fabulous birds of all shapes, real and imaginary; studying nature’s forms before creating mandalas using paint, natural and upcycled materials; creating a ceramic bird feeder with interesting found objects such as leaves, flowers and fruits of native plants then smoothed into a mould; and much more.
“Another great way you can relax and unwind is by getting lost amongst the beautiful, colourful artwork on display as part of two stunning exhibitions – Light Bright, Modern Mandalas for the 21st Century mind and Coast Colours – throughout December and January.”
