The Redbacks from South Australia are stepping up their pre-season cricket preparations on the Sunshine Coast this week with the 2018 JLT One-Day Cup just over a month away.
The squad travelled north on Monday to undertake their next block of training, based at council's Elizabeth Daniels Park facilities.
The Redbacks are taking advantage of the great Sunshine Coast winter weather to train in outdoor nets for the first time this pre-season alongside regular conditioning, leadership and team-building activities.
SACA General Manager of High Performance Tim Nielsen said the trip was an important part of the pre-season program.
“It’s a great opportunity for the players to maximise their training outdoors away from the wintery conditions here in Adelaide,” Nielsen said.
“It’s a long pre-season. The camp also gives us a chance to mix things up, throw some different elements into the program and keep the squad engaged.
“The players will continue to work hard on all aspects of their game ahead of next month’s JLT One-Day Cup.”
The SA Scorpions women's team will be on the Sunshine Coast next week to ramp up their training ahead of the 2018-19 WNCL season. The Scorpions will play several trial matches as part of their Maroochydore camp.
