Council’s Nambour Civic Centre presents shake & stir theatre company’s Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts on Wednesday, September 9 at 11am and 6.30pm.

Based on the book by Roald Dahl and adapted by shake & stir theatre co, Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts will make you rethink all you know about the classic children’s stories and rhymes of The Three Little Pigs, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Goldilocks and Jack and the Beanstalk.

The production will take the stories off the page and onto the stage in a spectacular new live show, with the rearrangement of the world’s best-loved fairy tales providing some surprising and hilarious twists.

Seriously funny and frighteningly silly, Roald Dahl’s creation is the perfect family entertainment especially for children but also for the adults. It’s sure to delight and disgust in equal measures.

Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts has been adapted for the stage by one of Australia’s leading contemporary theatre companies, shake & stir theatre co. Established in 2006, the company has been responsible for creating inspiring adaptations of classic texts and has won numerous awards for their works including for Statespeare (2012 Helpmann Award nomination – Best Children’s Work), Animal Farm (2012 Matilda Awards – Best Independent Production, Best Direction), 1984, Out Damn Snot, Tequila Mockingbird (2014 Matilda Awards – Best Mainstage Production, Gold Matilda Award).
