Sunshine Coast Council presents the whimsical and heart-warming colourful show Nadia & The Blue Flamingo, featuring acclaimed children's songwriter and entertainer Nadia Sundae, for one performance only at The J Noosa on Monday 8 July 2013.

A singing south wind flutters into town...weaving a playful dance around Nadia's washing line and filling the air with magic and song. With a dash of imagination, a hint of mayhem and a basket full of hope, Nadia and her audience discover true friends can sometimes be found right under your toes...

Nadia & The Blue Flamingo combines puppetry, music, comedy and audience participation in an engaging and heartfelt tale of friendship and is suitable for children aged three to eight and their families.

An internationally-awarded songwriter, published children's author, music educator, accomplished entertainer, comedienne, former ABC Radio announcer and a mother of two, Nadia is passionate about creating quality music and theatre experiences that inspire and connect people of all ages

Nadia & The Blue Flamingo has been written in collaboration with Jeff Licence, early childhood teacher, media education specialist, author and filmmaker.

Nadia Sundae said it was important to craft a show that engages and celebrates the magic of imaginary play.

“Nadia is a playful character and brings the Blue Flamingo to life from domestic items found at her fingertips,” she said.

“Constructing the puppet in front of the audience was a conscious decision to inspire and ignite the imaginations of children and their grown-ups. I promise you’ll never look at a pair of stripy socks the same way again!”

Family fun activities prior to the show kick off at 4:30pm and include free face painting, raffles, meet Miss Donna the Clown and a yummy sausage sizzle will be available for purchase. Show time is 5:30 pm.

Cost to attend is just $15 per person and for a group of four with minimum of two children just $55. Bookings can be made by calling 5455 4455, online at the Performance Venues website, or visit the theatre Box Office located at The J Noosa, 60 Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads.
