The Sunshine Coast’s own and much loved Caloundra Music Festival has been shortlisted as Festival of the Year in the inaugural 2018 Industry Observer Awards.
Judged by a jury from the music industry, the Australasia-focused ceremony celebrates the “talent behind the talent”.
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the CMF team was elated to be nominated in the new awards.
“To be shortlisted and acknowledged by the industry is a great tribute to the dedication and hardworking team behind CMF,” Cr Dwyer said.
“This acknowledgement also needs to be shared with our amazing 600 strong volunteer team who are the backbone of the festival.”
Other finalists for Festival of the Year include A Weekend in the Gardens, Byron Bay Blues Fest, Grove In the Moo, Hot Dub Wine Machine, Laneway, Splendour in the Grass, Unify Festival, and Yours and Owls festival.
The awards will celebrate the best in the Australian music industry and represent both the independent and major sectors.
The winners of the awards will be announced on Monday March 27.
This year’s Caloundra Music Festival will be held on September 28 to October 1. The first line-up of artists will be announced in April.
