Mayor Jamieson - Business success story
  • Thursday 31 August 2017

Our Sunshine Coast is home to some outstanding businesses with great stories to tell.

One of those is BizFurn, which is showing what can be achieved nationwide and internationally from its base in our region.

Earlier this month, I was delighted to be invited to join the celebrations for the next chapter of BizFurn's business success with the official opening of a new $30 million purpose-built facility and the announcement of plans for 60 additional jobs at Yandina.

BizFurn is a big contributor to the economic health of our region, with its investment estimated to contribute $47.3 million to the local economy annually.

And It is growth and investment like this that helps to support business confidence in our region, particularly in our hinterland where innovative companies such as BizFurn are succeeding and taking on the best our nation has to offer.

BizFurn started 30 years ago as a backyard operation and has now grown to be a business worth $70 million.

My congratulations and best wishes go to founder and managing director Denis Moore and his dedicated staff.
