Maleny Library is offering free adult literacy classes for the first time this year.
The program is for adults needing help with reading, writing and speaking English, everyday numeracy, reading newspapers and filling in forms.
Students work one-on-one with tutors and sometimes in small groups.
The course will be held weekly starting on Wednesday 28 January from 12.30 to 3.30pm.
Eligible participants can enrol at any time during the year.
The program is funded by the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. As a result, it is free to eligible participants, who will be issued with a certificate once they complete the course.
