The ‘GreenJune’ celebrations will wrap up in two weeks time, however residents still have plenty of opportunities to attend the eco-friendly activities on offer across the Coast throughout the final weeks of June.
GreenJune highlights council and community programs and activities designed to encourage residents to make changes at a personal level to reduce their carbon footprint and ultimately protect the Coast’s outstanding natural beauty and biodiversity.
Environment Portfolio holder councillor Keryn Jones said the activities on offer aimed to equip residents and business owners with the necessary skills to lead eco-friendly lifestyles.
“What’s great about the GreenJune activities is that they allow residents to have fun with family and friends while also educating them about eco-friendly practices and the importance of environmental sustainability,” Cr Jones said.
“The turnout at each of the events so far has been really positive and we are expecting the upcoming Glossies Awards and LivingSmart expo to be big hits!”
