Popular local artist Colin Passmore will donate one of his acclaimed abstract artworks to the people of Coolum for display at Coolum Library.
The canvas artwork depicts a night scene of bushfires in the Mt Emu area in the mid 1990s and will be accepted on behalf of Sunshine Coast Council and residents by Councillor Vivien Griffin.
Cr Griffin said the donated piece was a unique abstract interpretation of the bushfires and would be appreciated by residents at its new home at Coolum Library.
“Colin is a local artist whose eclectic work has achieved critical acclaim from some of the top galleries around the country,” Cr Griffin said.
“We are delighted that he has so generously donated one of his pieces of art to Coolum Library.
“Not all people have the chance to visit galleries and experience unique artwork like Colin’s and his generous gesture now means the people of Coolum have the chance to enjoy his work in everyday life during a visit to the library.
“On behalf of council and residents, I thank Colin for his generosity.”
Colin is Director of the Colin Passmore Sunshine Coast Gallery at Coolum. An experienced exhibitor of more than 25 years, his work is displayed in galleries around Australia and Japan.
