Council is thinking big, with five local parks dotted throughout Nambour that need upgrading; why not make just one vibrant, green, diverse mega-park?
Council has extended its deadline for feedback by one week and is asking the community to complete a quick survey by 8 July 2009.
Landscape Architect Helen Latham said that this project has huge potential and would really put Nambour on the map.
“We’ve already got the building blocks for success, lots of small Nambour parks, but this project would link all of these, creating something really special for Nambour and quite unique on the Sunshine Coast,” Ms Latham said.
“The opportunities are endless, music concerts and festivals with acts dotted throughout the parks, sporting events and healthy activity circuits.
“We could guess what is important to the people of Nambour, but we’d much rather know for sure. If exercise equipment is more important than public art, tell us. We have extended the deadline for feedback until 8 July 09.”
Survey forms are available on council’s website www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au, the Hub of the Hinterland shop in Queen Street, Nambour, council’s Nambour customer service office or by calling customer service on 5475 8501.
