Dig in and make a world of difference to our local environment this National Tree Day – Sunday, July 31.
Environment Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the Sunshine Coast community was invited to do something positive for the environment and reconnect with nature at a tree planting event.
“Council is hosting two community tree planting events at Little Mountain from 8.30am–midday and Twin Waters from 7–11am,” Cr McKay said.
“It’s a terrific way to recharge your batteries in the great outdoors and to help restore our natural environment.
“How much we achieve on Sunday will really come down to people power. Every single tree planted will make a difference—so I encourage everyone to grab their friends and families and head down to dig in.
“You are welcome to stay for a while or the whole time. Remember to bring water, a hat and sunscreen.”
