Residents are invited to have their say as Sunshine Coast Council develops a master plan for the Elizabeth Daniels Sports Complex.
Division 6 Councillor Christian Dickson said the Master Plan will provide council with a long-term vision of what the Elizabeth Daniels Sports Complex should look like and how it should function into the future.
"We recognise the Complex is an important sport and active recreation facility servicing Buderim and the surrounding region," he said.
"We invite the current users and the public to have their say on their expectations and concerns for the Complex.
"We need to make sure the Complex meets the current and future needs of its catchment area."
Councillor Dickson said there are some unique factors that must be considered in the master plan including the potential widening of the Sunshine Motorway, neighbouring bushland and its prior use as a land fill site.
"We have engaged the Strategic Leisure Group to work directly with the community to ensure public concerns and aspirations are understood and considered," he said.
"Community feedback will contribute to the vision for the future use of this site."
Residents are invited to complete an online survey by accessing the ‘have your say’ section on council’s website by Monday 17 December 2012. Once public review and feedback of the draft master plan has been received, council will develop a final master plan and seek adoption in mid 2013.
Elizabeth Daniels Sports Complex is home to a range of sports including cricket, basketball, croquet and bowls; recreation and community activities; and a dog off-leash area.
