Sunshine Coast Council’s customer service team is currently reviewing the way rates notices are distributed, options to pay and what prompts residents to contact council with rates queries.
Rate payers are invited to have their say as part of the review via an online survey – located on council’s website – open until Friday 29 April 2011.
Service Delivery Portfolio Councillor Paul Tatton said the aim of the rates notice review was to hear directly from rate payers ways to improve the current system.
"With around 150,000 rates notices issued every six months, council is committed to improving the rates notice distribution and related customer service assistance and resolution process," Cr Tatton said.
"We found a number of residents contacted council’s customer service team with various queries related to their rates notice.
"We want to understand why residents contacted us concerning rates, how quickly we were able to resolve their inquiry, and what we can do to make their experience better in future."
