Give the joy of reading this Christmas

ImageAs we start preparations for Christmas, spare a thought for those who may be doing it a bit hard and give the gift of literacy.

As a part of council’s Sunshine Coast Libraries Christmas celebrations, the annual Books4Kids Christmas gift drive has begun.

Sunshine Coast Libraries and the Salvation Army have once again joined forces to promote literacy and spread the Christmas cheer to less fortunate children around the region.

The concept is easy. You simply buy a new children’s book and drop it into any Sunshine Coast Library. It will then be wrapped by the Salvation Army.

Books will be then distributed to less fortunate children and families by the Salvation Army through their Santa workshop at Maroochydore.

The drive runs until December 16.
