Free tickets are going like hotcakes leading up to Sunshine Coast Council’s third Sundayze event at The Events Centre, Caloundra this Sunday (24 July 2011) from 12.30 to 3.30pm.

If you need further incentive to get along to the free community event themed LOL Comedy, popular Queensland comedian Mike MConville has been added to the line-up.

Residents will know Mike McConville from his regular appearances on all of the major commercial TV channels as well as being a featured comic on the Comedy Channel’s "Home Delivered Comedy". He has also been heard around the country on several radio networks on the popular "Home Grown Humor" series but to be fully appreciated he has to be seen live.

McConville will replace Lindsay Webb on the LOL event line-up, with Webb scoring a spot at the Australia’s Got Talent Grand Final episode doing the audience hosting and warm up.

Other comic talent on the Sundayze agenda ready to make you LOL include:

  • Queensland based Chris Franklin, best known for the 2000 release of his first single ‘Bloke’ which is a hilarious bogan send up of the 1997 Meredith Brooks song ‘Bitch’. Franklin has been performing comedy since 1997 and after just six months of performing had won the prestigious Triple J Raw Comedy Award for Australia's best new talent.
  • Mick Meredith, an all round entertainer who combines his love of music and comedy to deliver a top shelf comedy performance every time. Meredith has performed all over Australia, entertaining audiences with his razor sharp, loveable wit and guitar by his side.
  • Mel Buttle who likes to mix music and comedy performing spontaneous raps and rhymes with her extremely clever and articulate lyrics. Coming from a teaching background, Buttle uses her life experience and humour to create hilarious songs that will have you in stitches.

Plus, 19-year-old indie artist Andrew Redford – a multi-instrumental singer/songwriter from Cotton Tree – will be performing a mix of cover songs as well as his own during various breaks in the day to offer a welcomed change of pace. His latest EP Release ‘She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not’ reached number four on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter album charts.

Each Sundayze Series event, held on the last Sunday of the month from May to September, has a different theme. Visit the what’s on calendar on council's website for details.
