Mayor Bob Abbot will launch the Festival of Water to be held Sunday 17 August at 12pm at the Amphitheatre, Noosa Botanic Gardens, Lake Macdonald Drive Cooroy.
“What a fantastic event that will highlight ways every member of the community can help in the conversation and protection of water for the future,” Cr Abbot said.
This year’s festival will showcase some of Noosa’s greatest attractions with live music from local entertainers, as well as a host of activities on the lake, in the botanic gardens and in the speakers’ tent.
Bring your dam, creek or bore water samples for testing, take advantage of the free tree offer for landowners in the Noosa Biosphere area, take a boat tour or a canoe ride, and find out about sustainable fishing via the Take a Kid Fishing program. (Bookings for this program can be made by calling 5482 4766).
Activities will take place from 10am – 3pm, hosted by the Lake Macdonald Catchment Care Group.
A range of refreshments will be available and admission to the Noosa Festival of Water is free.
