Learn how to export from the experts
  • Thursday 03 March 2016

“Truly valuable for both start-up and more advanced companies like us.”

“Thankyou Sunshine Coast Council”.

This is just a small sample of the positive feedback from local business owners who’ve grown their international profile via Sunshine Coast Council’s Export Program.

Sunshine Coast Council CEO Michael Whittaker said the first Sunshine Coast Export Network event for 2016 would be held on Tuesday March 8 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Brightwater Hotel.

“The Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) aims for 20% of goods and services produced in our region to be exported by 2033 and council’s export program helps to drive this into action,” Mr Whittaker said.

“This program includes a number of free export networking events throughout the year that provide local business owners with opportunities to connect with successful exporters, hear about their experiences and learn from them.

“Next week’s event will include a presentation from the State Director of the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (Efic) to help local businesses win more business, grow internationally and achieve export success.

General Manager of Kunda Park-based Advanced Aquarium Technologies (AAT) Bruce Edwards will be guest speaker at next Tuesday’s networking event.

Mr Edwards said he was excited to share the Advanced Aquarium Technologies story with fellow local businesses.

“Advanced Aquarium Technologies has created some of the world’s most recognised and loved aquariums and oceanariums in places as far-flung as China, Lithuania, Turkey, Singapore, Denmark, Hong Kong and Macau,” he said.

“AAT is also a two-time winner of the Regional Export Award in the Premier’s Export Awards (2005 and 2011) and on behalf of our company, I’m very much looking forward to sharing some of the secrets of our success with other Sunshine Coast businesses at next week’s export networking event.”
