Exhibition brings new life to the Butter Factory
  • Friday 10 April 2009

Now showing at the Butter Factory in Cooroy is common thread, an inspiring exhibition of mixed media paintings by Carmen Hannay, Vicki Driscoll, Sue Gamble and Nicky Townsend.

In their exploration of local landscapes, the artists use a range of painting, drawing, printmaking, assemblage and collage techniques to present very different and individual expressions of their connection to our local environment.

Over 60 people came along to the opening on Saturday 4 April and the exhibition continues to attract a steady stream of visitors. Visitors are also invited to meet the artists at the Butter Factory over the next two Saturdays.

“We’ve been painting together for a number of years now and we are just thrilled at the response to our first exhibition,” said artist Sue Gamble.

“We’ve had wonderful support from friends and family as well as the local community – the opening was great, people are still coming to see the exhibition and sales are also going really well.”

The exhibition runs until 24 April. The gallery is open 10am-4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays and the artists will be in the gallery each Saturday.

David Parker – New is a series of large scale, contemporary oils by David Parker, and opens at the Butter Factory Arts Centre at 5:30pm on Thursday 30 April.

The Butter Factory Arts Centre, located at 10 Maple Street Cooroy, is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm. The public is most welcome and entry is free. For more information call 5472 0222.
