Days at the beach made even better by improved facilities
  • Friday 30 December 2016

Sunshine Coast Council is continuing to improve beach facilities to make it easier for us to access the sand and enjoy days in the sun.

Four showers and three accesses, including the popular new viewing deck at Marcoola, have already been improved this financial year with more to come in early 2017.

Local Infrastructure Delivery Portfolio Councillor Greg Rogerson said the upgrades were part of council’s $253 million Capital Works Program.

“The improved beach accesses range from sand tracks with fencing to protect nearby vegetation through to boardwalks and timber viewing platforms that provide a great vantage point to watch the waves roll in,” Cr Rogerson said.

“Council delivers a range of recreational projects that make it easier for our community to enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle.

“These are just some of the smaller infrastructure pieces completed this year.”
