Information and registration day
Council is encouraging young people interested in entering the music industry to come along to a Music Camp Information Day at the Cooroy Butter Factory.
In the lead up to 4th annual 8-day residential Music Camp, an information day will be held on 4 October for young people to find out all they need about camp and to register.
The Creative Careers Music Camp is a professional development program run by Council for young emerging artists.
The program assists the creative and professional development of young artists through mentorship by local artists and arts professionals.
The model has been successfully used to develop music and film mentoring programs in and around Noosa and the hinterland areas.
Bernice Childs, Cooroy Butter Factory Manager said it provided a great opportunity for young people to go along and have all their questions about the camp answered.
“They can meet the mentors, register for camp, have their registration interview with mentors.”
“There will be opportunities to meet past participants and successful young musicians and catch some live performances while enjoying a sausage sizzle.”
The 2009 Music Camp will be held on 10-18 January 2009 and consists of a series of workshops.
The workshops will include areas on vocals, music industry, business, instrumental tuition, live performance/stage craft, songwriting, production, networking and rehearsal.
The camp is open to young people aged between 12 and 25 with some experience in music, instrument and/or vocals.
