Wow – hasn’t this year just flown? It has for me anyway, with many local projects big and small delivered and on the go for local residents. Now with Christmas on our doorstep, I am looking forward to having some downtime with my family to rest and rejuvenate before another massive year commences. Wishing you and your families a safe, healthy and happy festive season and a joyful and prosperous new year.
Responsible pet ownership important for all ages
Unfortunately this time of year we always see an increase of dogs and cats ending up at the pound or dog attacks reported. This is usually a result of animals escaping during summer storms and fireworks or families going away on holidays leaving pets inadequately attended.
To proactively combat this, council staff have been busier than ever undertaking proactive pet education and awareness programs and events for all ages across the Sunshine Coast including a kids education program, pop-up stalls at beaches, dog parks and other community events, barking seminars and microchipping days.
Be sure to pop into the Buderim Village Park pop-up event with your dog on January 12 from 7 - 9.30am, pick up some freebies for your furry friend and ask any questions you may have about responsible pet ownership to our response services officers.
Maroochy River foreshore improvements
This summer, why not take the time to get outdoors and enjoy the many fabulous parks and gardens our wonderful region has to offer?
I am delighted to share that the latest of series of improvements to the stunning Maroochy River foreshore, at both the western and eastern ends of Bradman Avenue, are now complete including new shelters, barbecues, wide pathways and landscaping at Cod Hole Park.
