In the weeks leading up to Christmas there were two stand-out local events for families in the Coolum and North Shore district area. Coolum Christmas in the Park and Christmas Spectacular in Peregian Springs were extremely well attended, with lots of singing, entertainment and food for everyone to enjoy. Luckily the weather was great on both evenings and it was undeniably the best year yet for both events – between the two events thousands of people celebrated the festive season.
I attended the Peregian Springs event and it was great to be part of such a great family atmosphere and see the kids having so much fun. While I didn’t make it to the Coolum event, I hear it had a great community feel. A huge congratulations to the organisers of both events.
More upgrades for aquatic centre
Following on from the upgrades to the pool a few months ago the Coolum Aquatic Centre has been further enhanced with the opening of a new splash pad, designed for children 1-9 years. The café has been refurbished too, offering new menus, tables and chairs for parents to enjoy a coffee while the kids play.
Happy New Year!
In my travels around Division 9, I certainly got the feeling that everybody needed and was looking forward to a break over Christmas and New Year. Hopefully you’ve now had a chance to relax. My wife Jeanne and I hope you had a great Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year. I look forward to working with you in 2018.
