Making progress in Maroochydore City Centre
It was a privilege to attend the major announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding agreed between Sunshine Coast Council, SunCentral Maroochydore Pty Ltd, the University of the Sunshine Coast and John Holland Property Development Group on Friday, August 4. This is a significant step forward for the Maroochydore City Centre project and it demonstrates the confidence major investors have in the vision and the aspirations of this council. I look forward to watching this project progress.

DASSI Community Meeting
The DASSI (Descendants of Australia’s South Sea Islanders) people proved to be outstanding hosts at their most recent community meeting, held at the DASSI Cultural Hut in Bli Bli. With guest speakers from USC and council, there were plenty of important projects to discuss. The DASSI people have a rich history on the Sunshine Coast of more than 150 years. It’s important to recognise their outstanding contribution to the growth of the region.

Quirky Circle Development
Council recently announced a development approval on the old Quirky Circle site. While there were some challenges with the location, this project will provide a much improved entry statement for Bli Bli. The development will be a great addition to the area’s shopping options.

Meet and Greet
My next ‘Meet and Greet’ is at Bli Bli IGA Supa on Tuesday, September 12 from 9-11am. It's a great opportunity to chat with me about all things council related. I hope to see you there!
