Cr Robinson - Eumundi and District Historical Association AGM
  • Monday 18 December 2017

It was terrific to attend the Eumundi and District Historical Association AGM for an insight into the group’s successes of the last 12 months. Congratulations to Donata Page and her hardworking committee for an outstanding year of community outcomes. I believe the importance and recognition of the Eumundi and districts history has been well-served by the efforts of EHA. The group coordinates the Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre, which has great interpretive displays with items of historical interest. It’s well worth a visit.

Celebrating business success

Our region has many fantastic local businesses and it was great to see so many recognised at the 2017 Sunshine Coast Business Awards. It was an incredibly successful event, with more than 500 people in attendance and hundreds of businesses acknowledged for their success and contribution to the region. The recipients included, among others, Helimods as Business of the Year, Will Shrapnel of HeliMods as Outstanding Business Person of the Year and Matt Hepburn of Your Mates Brewing Co. as Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

New terraces for the markets

I know many of you will be aware of the new terraces upgrade for the Eumundi Markets, but I would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts – the end product is an outstanding result and a great example of council and the community working together.

Doonan Bridge Road

I have recently met with the Doonan/Verrierdale community on this important project. The community has raised concerns over the road design and consequently, I have arranged for an independent engineering assessment to consider other options. I will keep the nearby residents posted.

Christmas greetings

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year. I look forward to working with you again in 2017.
