Feedback sought on new sport and recreation precinct
Now is the time for you to ‘have your say’ on the newly released draft master plan for the 75-hectare Honey Farm Road Sport and Recreation Precinct at Meridan Plains, located opposite the Sunshine Coast Turf Club. With dedicated areas for a number of sporting, recreation and leisure activities this precinct is sure to have something for the entire Sunshine Coast community to enjoy. There’s even an expansive dog park so our furry friends don’t miss out on all the fun! I encourage everyone to visit council’s website to have your say by 5pm Friday July 24, 2020 because your feedback will help to guide the final design.

Supporting our Division 3 community
Council handed down its budget for the 2020/21 financial year on June 25, 2020. I’m pleased to say this year’s budget focused on supporting our community and identifying projects council could invest in which would complement and enhance our wonderful Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

Over the next 12 months $1 million will go towards continuing the Coastal Pathway’s missing link at Warana, which I know is a much loved and utilised piece of community infrastructure.

We’ll also be finalising the crucial Parklands Boulevard upgrade, creating four lanes between Meridan Way and Saffron Drive with another $2.5 million in funding this financial year.

I’d like to thank the community for their patience during construction and am looking forward to providing improved commute times for residents once complete.
