Cr OPray Aussies returning
  • Tuesday 29 August 2017

In case you missed the big news – Surf Life Saving’s premier event “The Aussies” are coming back to the Sunshine Coast! We’ll host the 2021 event at Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore and Mooloolaba Clubs.

Last year’s Aussies was a rip-roaring success, bringing 7000 competitors and more than $20million in economic impact to our region and 2021 will be even bigger and better!

Running for a cause

With months of torrid training in the books and what seems like a million miles in my legs, I’m ready to lace up the running shoes this Sunday and tackle the 42.2km test of muscle and mind – the Sunshine Coast Marathon!

Why am I doing this? Well, last year my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer so Sunday’s event and everything it stands for is extremely dear to my heart as I know it is for so many others whose lives have been affected directly or indirectly by breast cancer.

If all that isn’t inspiration enough, the support I’ve received will certainly put more air in my lungs and push me through the pain barrier this Sunday. We’ve raised around $7,500 as I write this (https://sunshinecoastmarathon2017.everydayhero.com/au/jason) and to those who’ve so generously donated to my run, thank you ever so much. Your donations will go straight to the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program.

To all those who’ll be in my shoes this weekend, I’ll see you at the start line bright and early. Let’s all have a great day and push each other along all the way to that finish line!

Lovin’ the Sunshine Coast!
