Many congratulations to Woombye Library for their outstanding refurbishment.
I’m pleased to have been able to contribute $2,000 from the division 5 funding towards improvements to the longest running community based library service in Australia, celebrating over 100 years.
I’m also proudly supporting the Sunshine Valley Men's Shed in West Woombye, chipping in $3,500 towards much-needed workshop machinery. The aim is that the new machinery will attract greater membership by offering a huge variety of woodworking projects members can enjoy.
Well done Woombye Care
Hats off to Woombye Care Inc. for the wonderful new extension to their aged care facilities.
In particular, a special recognition to Kevin Covey and the board for their significant contribution to continue to improve this terrific service for the local community.
I look forward to attending the official opening of the Blythswood Building next week.
Dogs on large properties
A reminder to dog owners that your four legged friends require a secure containment area on private properties when they are not under direct supervision to ensure they do not wander into public space or other people’s properties.
The containment could be a smaller area inside the property where the dog is kept when it’s not with its owner or a responsible person. This is particularly important on large properties.
Blooming Wildflower Festival
In late winter and spring the Coast’s wildflowers burst forth in a stunning array of sizes, shapes and colours.
Explore these natural beauties blossoming as part of the Sunshine Coast Wildflower Festival from August 21 – September 3. For a copy of the full festival program, including 16 guided walks between Bribie Island and Noosa, visit council’s website.
