Last week I attended a field tour of the Kirbys Road Environmental Reserve in Obi Obi to inspect the reserve, discuss the draft management plan and hear more about opportunities for future recreation that exist on the site.
The reserve management plan for the Kirbys Road Environmental Reserve, purchased through the Environment Levy in 2011, will guide future recreational use, bush restoration and other activities at this reserve, helping to protect the reserve’s important environmental values.
A reminder that residents have until 4pm, 31 October 2014 to provide feedback on the draft plan. See Council’s website to view the plan and for further details.
Animal strategy launch celebrations
Everyone and their dog – and cat – are invited to attend the Domestic Animal Management Strategy launch event at Buderim Park, Syd Lingard Drive from 7.30 - 11am, 2 November.
The fun-filled morning will feature free microchipping for cats and dogs, entertainment for people and animals, food stalls, pet food and accessory discounts, sample bags, animal training and much more.
It’s game on in Eudlo
I hope to see you all at the grand opening day of the new Eudlo tennis courts from midday - 4pm, 25 October. The day will include lots of fun activities for both adults and children, prizes, a sausage sizzle and plenty of other yummy food and drinks.
Palmwoods parking changes
Following council receiving numerous requests from businesses in Palmwoods for tighter time limits for parking spaces in predominant areas of the town to increase parking opportunities for customers, adjustments have been made. Signs have been installed on Margaret Street around the newsagency indicating the new time limits. Be sure to always check the signage.
Woombye school garage sale event cancelled
Unfortunately the garage sale trail event planned for Sunshine Coast Christian College has been cancelled.
But don’t be too disheartened. The wonderful National Garage Sale Trail event is still happening Australia-wide on Saturday 25 October, so you can either register and take part from your own home or look out for goodies up for grabs around your neighbourhood
For more information about the National Garage Sale Trail visit www.garagesaletrail.com.au .
