Drop in and have your say on draft Environment and Liveability Strategy
It is encouraging to see the community engaging with council and providing their feedback on the draft Environment and Liveability Strategy. This is an incredibly important document that will help shape Sunshine Coast over the next 25 years.

If you haven’t had your say yet, you can jump online and share your views or have a chat with our council staff on tomorrow May 20 at Cotton Tree Library from 9:00am to noon.

Blackall Range Road, West Wombye

At yesterday’s Ordinary Meeting of Council I tabled a petition of residents regarding their request to have the speed limited reduced from 80km/h to 60km/h between 408 Blackall Range Road and Hamilton Road, West Woombye to improve community safety.

This petition will be directed to the Speed review Committee involving Qld Police service. Residents will receive a letter of acknowledgement from the office of the CEO.

Music festival offers big opportunities for local businesses

The annual Big Pineapple Music Festival will be held on Saturday 27 May. Now in its fifth year, this event continues to grow from strength to strength bringing visitors to the region. It offers an excellent opportunity for local businesses to leverage off this event and showcase the gems the hinterland has to offer.

Be mindful when parking in Palmwoods

A limited number of parking spaces in Margaret Street and Main Street Palmwoods are time restricted to encourage turnover and allow access to local businesses. There are plenty of surrounding areas that are unrestricted and allow for all day use, please be mindful of exceeding time restrictions in these areas to help improve access for all.
