Well done to local sports club
Well done to our local sports clubs that secured funds through council’s 2020 Sports Field Maintenance Funding program. I’m glad it’ll help to keep their fields in great condition over the next three years. It takes a lot of work to put these grants together, which are often written by volunteers so congratulations to Coolum Beach Junior Rugby League Inc ($5263), Coolum Cricket Club ($15,552) and Coolum Football Club ($18,419).

Dog off-leash areas
Did you know there is a mobile-friendly website dogs.sunshinecost.qld.gov.au to help you find the dog off-leash areas are across the Coast? It even tells you were the doggie water bowls are! There is a dog off-leash area at Coolum Beach, Beach Access 67 to 72, extending 1km north of Stumers Creek . Its off-leash at all times.

Have your say
There are two council strategies seeking your input. You can comment on the Domestic Animal Strategy to provide your thoughts on what you consider to be responsible pet ownership and any suggestions for council on how we can help encourage this.
In addition, you are invited to complete the ‘Our Resilient Coast. Our Future’ survey to provide input on ways to protect our coastline from the impacts of sea level rise and severe storms into the future – such as rock walls, sand renourishment or through planning requirements.
The ‘Our Resilient Coast. Our Future’ survey close on Sunday 30 August and the Domestic Animal Strategy survey closes on Monday 31 August. The surveys can be found on council’s Have Your Say website haveyoursay.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.

If you have other suggestions, please contact me on 5475 9810 or maria.suarez@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au
