A special thanks to all our volunteers on the Sunshine Coast

 Congratulations to our local groups

Council’s Community Partnership Funding Program helps local groups to continue to provide vital support to our community with operational funding for expenses such as insurances, electricity, water, security, regular cleaning, rent and rates. The program provides up to three years of funding towards operational expenses for successful applicants and 2020/21 is the final year of the current three year cycle of the program.
It takes a lot of work to put these applications together, which are often written by volunteers so congratulations to the Eumundi Pony Club who will receive $2500 this financial year and the Valdora Community Hall who will also receive $3000 this year.

Thank you to our environment volunteers

Thank-you to Bush Care volunteers who, from April to June (with COVID-safe plans in place), invested 139 hours of their time removing 18 wheelie bins of weeds from parks and reserves. I’d also like to recognise the efforts of over 1000 private landholders who participate in council’s Land for Wildlife Program for caring for nearly 9000 hectares of natural environment found on private lands. I know our council officers who work closely with these volunteers think themselves fortunate to be working with such motivated members of our community.
