We will remember them

At the 11th hour on Wednesday the 11th November our country will pause to observe a minute’s silence to remember the brave soldiers who died during the First World War. I am honoured to be invited to the Yandina Eumundi RSL Remembrance Day 2020 which will look a little different this year with virtual options to ensure that everyone can participate. To our local veterans past and present thank you for your service. Lest we forget.

Supporting Nambour entrepreneurs

Earlier this month I did a tour of Nambour businesses along Price St and Windsor Rd with economic development officers from council. There was a level of optimism among business owners and a positive view regarding the future.

One of the best things we can all do to support businesses is to continue to shop local, follow social distancing and all COVID Safe plans. You could adopt a shop (or shops) and support small local businesses and by shopping locally you know that money is staying in Nambour and the Sunshine Coast community.

Well done class of 2020

On the 21st October I attended Nambour State College’s P&C meeting. Thank you to P&C president Shira Gingell and the team for having me along. This year the college, like many schools throughout the country, has faced enormous challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic threw a major spanner in the works regarding face-to-face learning. The class of 2020 will no doubt be one of the most resilient cohorts in decades, and each and every student should be very proud of their efforts. To the seniors I wish you the very best of luck for your final exams and know you will make your families proud in your future endeavours.
