Upgrades to our local roads

Council has been busy upgrading many roads in and around Division 10. You may notice Duhs Road, Image Flat, Wappa Falls Road, Yandina and Memorial Drive, Eumundi have been resealed which improves safety and provides a much smoother ride.

It’s great to see the bus and carpark at Nambour Showgrounds have been upgraded with two new bus set-down areas at the end of Cattleman’s Drive providing a safe departure point for people to attend various events, while the tennis club carpark has a new surface.

A much needed new footpath is also being built along Nambour Connection Road between Magnolia St and Erbacher Rd. The pathway will be 950m long and will vary in width between 1.8m and 2.5m. It should be complete by October 2020.

COVID-19 Community Response Grants

Congratulations to the second stage of successful recipients of council’s COVID-19 Community Response Grants that were announced last week.

Many community groups in Division 10 will receive a helping hand including $3810 to Yandina Bowls Club to upgrade their floor coverings, $4200 to Rotary Club of Nambour to paint inside and outside their club and $7500 to Yandina Community Gardens to create an outdoor workshop space.

Have your say on the Sunshine Coast’s festive season celebrations

The festive season is a special time of year when we enjoy community celebrations, family gatherings, lights, carols, fireworks and more.

The season brings our community together, and each year Sunshine Coast Council supports Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations by sponsoring, managing or making grants available for events across the region.

With a growing and changing population, council is reviewing the festive season program and we’re inviting you to share your thoughts on what’s important via a short survey.

Your feedback will help council determine how we can support the community to bring the festive spirit to life during the Christmas and New Year period, from 2021 onward.

The survey can be found on council’s Have Your Say website. Survey closes August 7.
