Ninderry Road project
Council works are underway to improve a section of Ninderry Road. These include improved access to the Mt Ninderry Environmental Reserve, a concrete sleeper retaining wall and provision of 13 additional car-parking spaces with guardrail and fencing, line marking and signage as well as landscaping and tree planting.
Weather permitting, they should be complete by the end of July.
Many Division 10 community groups have recently received a helping hand thanks to council’s latest round of the Major Grants program.
More than $515,000 was allocated to many worthy groups including $7500 to the Retro Rocks Nambour project, $13,332 to the Yandina School of Arts for their restoration project and $3000 to Wishlist to help revitalise the Reed House emergency accommodation facility in Nambour.
Congratulations to everyone who successfully applied. The next Major Grants program opens mid-July. Visit council’s website for more information.
Tickets are selling fast to the Sunshine Coast’s first ever drive-in music festival featuring The Chats, The Dreggs, The Pierce Brothers and more. I’m thrilled event organisers chose Nambour to host this fantastic event from 10-12 July. Visit https://www.buskersbythelake.com.au/airwavesfestival.com.au
Lastly, I’d like to bid a sad farewell to Nambour Weekly which unfortunately will no longer be printed. Community newspapers have always held a special place in many households, including mine. I wish all the talented journalists behind this production all the very best for the future.
