Division 10 upgrades

Council crews have been busy repairing roads in Division 10. They include the resealing of Perwillowen Rd and Blaxland Rd in Nambour plus Brolga Lane, Dulong. The Nambour-Mapleton Rd bus stop has also been upgraded with the installation of a concrete path to the bus stop and a new concrete slab, making it compliant with the Disability Standards Act for Accessible Public Transport 2002.

Have your say on the future of waste

Did you know more than half of the rubbish in household garbage bins is organic waste such as food scraps and lawn clippings?

Council is seeking community feedback on a proposal to introduce an opt-in third bin for garden waste which could transition to a food organics and garden organics bin service, also known as a FOGO bin.

We want to hear from you before any decision is made. Feedback from the survey will help to inform Council discussion as we progress towards a circular economy approach to managing the region’s waste into the future. Please take the time to fill out the online survey at haveyoursay.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/our-future-waste before 5pm, Tuesday 2 March 2021.

New drop-in sessions

I’m pleased to share I will be hosting a series of drop-in sessions around our division. I held my first one at Nambour Library earlier this month. This is a great informal opportunity for you to let me know your feedback or concerns as well as asking any particular council-related questions. Some queries I received included overgrown trees and footpath improvements. Keep an eye on my Facebook page for new dates and locations including Mapleton and Eumundi.
