Nambour Aquatic Centre

Works are continuing on the construction of the splash park at the Nambour Aquatic Centre. This upgrade, being delivered in partnership with the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program and pool lessee Belgravia Leisure, will deliver a children’s zero depth splash zone and two water slides. Council is also expanding and reconfiguring the carparking area that serves the Aquatic Centre.

These projects have been delayed due to extended wet weather and significant latent (physical) conditions. The carpark extension is anticipated to be available in July, with the Splash Park expected to open in September. This will be great timing for the September school holidays and warmer weather. Thanks for your patience in the interim. These upgrades will be a major drawcard to Nambour, empowering healthy and active lifestyles and facilitating many hours of fun for all ages.

Healthy Sunshine Coast activities

More good news for Division 10 with extra activities being added to Council’s Healthy Sunshine Coast free and low cost program. There’s an active seniors class on Tuesdays at Nambour Gym and Fitness Studio, post-natal fitness also on Tuesdays at Nambour Showgrounds, and aqua aerobics on Thursdays and Fridays at the Nambour Aquatic Centre. It’s terrific that these programs are available for everyone to enjoy, but of course in order for them to continue, community support and participation is essential.
