Free tree day
On Friday 14 May from 11am-2pm in Mapleton and Tuesday 15 June from 9am-noon at Yandina I will be holding free tree days and also Councillor drop-in sessions. Come down and grab some seedlings and shrubs and you’re also welcome to provide myself with any council feedback. Please see my Facebook page for full details closer to the day.
All aboard for tram open day
It’s time to pack your bags and head to the community open day of the Nambour Tramway Terminus this Friday 14 May from noon-3.30pm at 28 Mill St, Nambour. I’ve been fortunate to tour the facility many times, and each time I have been thoroughly impressed with the contemporary design. Now’s your chance to check it out for yourself.
Innovations like this are critical to supporting our local economy and proof of what can be achieved when a passionate group of locals commits to contributing to Nambour’s future viability, supported by council and the Australian Government.
Good luck Ryan!
Did you know we have our very own Olympian right here in Division 10? Ryan Tyack, of Mapleton, is a Rio Bronze medallist and the archer is preparing to jet off to the Tokyo Olympics in a matter of weeks. Good luck Ryan, the whole of the Sunshine Coast and Australia will be cheering you on in your quest for gold.
Have you noticed vibrant new colours starting to appear out the front of the Nambour library and council building? Talented Sunshine Coast artist Alison Mooney is creating a mural and will be connecting the space to nature with abstract compositions of native flora including the town namesake, the Namba Tree, also known as the bottle brush (Callistemon Viminal). Council will transform the forecourt over coming weeks by introducing more shade, art and infrastructure to create a more user-friendly space. We want to create a space that provides opportunities for people to relax, have fun and socialise.
