Cr Law - Cheers to Stalwart Brewing

Out and about

I recently attended Burnside Neighbourhood Watch’s November meeting, where I presented information about the upgrade to Blaxland Road footpaths. Council is currently constructing a missing-link pathway from the bus stop outside 14 Blaxland Road to Carter Road. This will improve access and safety in particular for children as they walk to school. As we head into the holiday season, please also remember to lock-up your house and look out for children who may be playing with neighbours and riding their bikes in our local streets.

On Wednesday 11 November I was honoured to attend Burnside State High School’s 42nd Annual Awards Night and present an award. Like many teachers, parents and friends within our Division 10 community, I was extremely impressed and proud of this year’s senior cohort, who have had to deal with their final year of schooling unlike no other. Their resilient skills acquired this year will only add to their CV for years to come. Well done to everyone.

Cheers to Stalwart Brewing

Congratulations to Adam Tomlinson, the new owner of Stalwart Brewing Company based at the heritage-listed Club Hotel on Currie St, Nambour.

The craft brewery serves up a high-quality range of ales including two which draw on his Navajo Indian and Kabi Kabi heritage.

It’s great to see new businesses choosing Nambour to set-up shop in, and locals supporting locals.

Best wishes to you and yours

Council has launched a terrific new campaign for everyone in our community to celebrate the festive season this year. Festive Season in My Neighbourhood encourages people to celebrate good neighbours and connect with one another.

Visit for a delightful selection of practical tips and ideas and be sure to tune in to council’s Facebook page, YouTube channel or webpage on Saturday 19 December from 6.30pm to watch the Sunshine Coast Community Carols. You’ll be in for a treat.

I would particularly like to give a special shout-out and thank you to our wonderful volunteers and community groups in Division 10 who have gone above and beyond this year. I am so proud to call this community home and grateful for all they do. Until next year, please stay safe these holidays. Season’s Greetings to you and yours.
