With the 2020/21 budget now endorsed, I am pleased to share that we’ve worked very hard to deliver a budget that has something for everyone in Division 4. Projects planned over the next 12 months will help connect our community and include major transport infrastructure projects, safe active transport solutions and a variety of smaller local projects and facilities. In this year’s budget council will invest in sport and recreation facilities such as the continued roll out of the coastal pathway at Buddina, Minyama, Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba and the Cotton Tree aquatic centre upgrade. Road safety is a high priority and construction will start on the Maroochy Boulevard and Dalton Drive intersections. Council is also investing in several major Mooloolaba infrastructure projects to improve parking, traffic flow and enhance the southern entrance into Mooloolaba. Please note that while the budget includes a 2% minimum general increase and a 3.5% increase to waste management charges for a 240L wheelie bin, council has applied a one-off $35 COVID-19 rebate to properties with a general rate. First Nations Artwork exhibition
Visit Caloundra Regional Gallery between July 18 and August 2 to see a special, limited time exhibition celebrating First Nations Peoples artworks which reflect the past and current future of the oldest continuing culture in the world. For the first time in the gallery’s 20 year history, these local and national artworks will be exhibited together to celebrate and remember. Visit gallery.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au for details.
