It was my pleasure to recently officiate at the sod turning for The House the Coast Built at 16 Flame Tree Avenue, Sippy Downs. A fantastic initiative supported by more than 50 local businesses, the house will be auctioned off next year and the funds raised will go to medical charity Wishlist's support of kids on the Coast.
New-look bus stop coming to Mooloolaba Road
An upgrade of the bus stop outside 344 Mooloolaba Road, Buderim is now well underway. Improvements include a new concrete slab, seat and rubbish bin as well as realignment of the kerb, installation of a pathway and 1.2m fence. An adjacent temporary bus stop has been established.
Mountain Creek fire trail extension
A new section of fire trail in Mountain Creek Conservation Area will be constructed in the coming weeks. Adding 500 metres of compacted trail to the recreational pathway network, the trails provide access for emergency vehicles during bushfires. They also allow Council to establish a protection burn area at the end of Glenfields Boulevard. This will reduce the risk of bushfires in the open heath section of the reserve and Mooloolah River National Park moving into the forested areas of the reserve along Mountain Creek.
