I’d like to start my third term of council by thanking the residents in Division 3 for their ongoing support and vote of confidence. I am truly humbled and look forward to working with, and for you, over the next four years.
I will continue advocating for further improvements to the Coastal Pathway, a widely used and much loved piece of infrastructure; and better roads, like the duplication of Parklands Boulevard near Meridan State College.
I pride myself on being accessible to the community and encourage you to reach out with any concerns or feedback. I look forward to re-establishing a regular mobile office, when it is safe to do so.
Ready for post-COVID workouts
New fitness equipment in Viridian Park, Birtinya has been installed and when the time is right, it will cater to all your workout needs. Council is closely monitoring developments surrounding novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the facilities will be available when it is safe to use. The new exercise equipment includes an exercise bike, chin-up bars and a sit-up bench, just to name a few.
Solar lighting at dog park
I’m pleased to advise new solar-powered lighting has been installed at our popular small and large dog enclosures in Ridgehaven Park, Aroona. As the days become shorter throughout winter months, these lights will allow community members, and their four-legged friends, to continue enjoying the park for a bit longer each evening.
