Supporting you in Division 3
It’s a privilege to be back for my third term representing Division 3. Thank you for your ongoing support and vote of confidence. Division 3 is a wonderful area within our Sunshine Coast region, with great waterways and diverse, energetic communities throughout Aroona, Bokarina, Birtinya, Currimundi, Little Mountain, Meridan Plains, Warana, and Wurtulla. I look forward to working with residents and community groups over the next four years.
I’m pleased to advise work on the Coastal Pathway, which I know is a much loved and utilised piece of community infrastructure, will continue this financial year with $1 million allocated to continue its missing link at Warana.
We’re also working on a significant master plan for the 75-hectare Honey Farm Road Sport and Recreation Precinct in Meridan Plains. Once delivered the facility will provide our region with a range of spaces for active sports, outdoor recreation, healthy living and community events.
I will also continue to advocate for the Sunshine Coast Stadium expansion project. As our population grows, it’s our ambition to develop a stadium that over time will have the capacity to stage international and national sporting, recreational and entertainment events.
As Environment and Liveability Portfolio Councillor, alongside my colleague Cr Maria Suarez, I’m pleased to advocate for our long-term projects such as Blue Heart Sunshine Coast, the Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy – ‘Our Resilient Coast. Our Future’ and the Sunshine Coast Biosphere Nomination that will help to deliver a healthy environment and liveable Sunshine Coast for current and future generations to enjoy.
I pride myself on being accessible to the community so I encourage you to reach out with any concerns or feedback via email at Peter.Cox@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au or call my office on 5420 8978.
