Currimundi Road rehabilitation completed ahead of schedule
I’m sure you have joined me eagerly awaiting the completion of the Currimundi Road rehabilitation and resurfacing works. After all the rain we’ve had recently it was good to see the final touches completed a week earlier than expected. I would like to thank locals and commuters for their patience and cooperation during these works and making sure we could all safely navigate around them over the past few weeks. The upgrade included strengthening the subgrade, replacing the pavement and adding a new asphalt wearing surface and will ensure the road remains durable for many years to come.
Currimundi viewing platform will be ready for Christmas
What a great way to end the year. The long awaited viewing platform at beach access 254 is expected to be open to the public before Christmas. The new deck sits adjacent to the Currimundi Lifeguard Tower and complements the patrolled beach with a bench seat, bar stools and shower platform nearby. I anticipate that this area will be well utilised by both locals and visitors alike.
From my family to yours, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy festive season and a prosperous New Year. I look forward to working with you for the betterment of our community in 2018.
