Coastal pathway update
I’m excited to share news of the start of the early clearing works, targeting weeds and invasive species, in the section between Driftwood Court and Wyandra Park. Actual pathway construction is expected to commence in late March, weather permitting. This project will run through the school holidays and every effort will be made to ensure beach access points remain open, especially during the Easter holiday period. Council is committed to improving the quality of the dunal ecosystem and will focus on native bush regeneration in the area following completion of construction.
It was fantastic to see over 700 volunteers, aged between 2-98 years, join forces to clean up nearly 1600kg of waste from our waterways and beaches to prepare the perfect path for our turtle hatchlings. Great work everyone!
