New Year’s Eve Mooloolaba
It was wonderful to see the massive turnout at Mooloolaba on New Year’s Eve. The atmosphere was great and everyone looked like they were having a fantastic time. What a brilliant way to see in the New Year. It’s events like these that bring our community closer together and strengthen our economy. Local traders were very happy with their increased patronage on the night.
The holiday period saw Kawana Shoppingworld buzzing with shoppers. In recent years, it has become one of the Coast’s main shopping centres, generating great flow-on effects for the local community. I look forward to watching this centre grow during the next stage of development.
A big year ahead for SunCentral
There is much to look forward to in Maroochydore City Centre this year as commercial and mixed use project development proposals are considered, contracted and announced. You will continue to see plenty of changes on the site. Maroochydore will be Australia’s first truly smart city, with infrastructure and digital solutions built in from the ground up. This is such an exciting project and will deliver more than 30,000 new jobs by 2040 as well as a $4.4 billion contribution to the Sunshine Coast economy.
