Meet and Greet
I hope you all had a wonderful festive season with family and friends. Please join me for my first Meet and Greet of 2019 at Kawana Library on Monday January 21 from 9.30-10.30am. I will continue these sessions every month, and look forward to working with you all this year.
Community Update Newsletter
If you haven’t seen my Living in Division 4 Spring/Summer 2018 newsletter yet, check it out on council’s website under ‘Councillor Newsletters’. The newsletter aims to provide residents with a snapshot of what’s happening in our community. In Maroochydore, work on the first stage of civil works is nearing completion and construction of the first stage of a new waterway, which will be a striking feature of the new CBD, will commence in early 2019. We’ve also delivered a new shade sail over the play equipment at Kensington Park, and the new trees make it a very pleasant spot. To find out what’s happening in our area, take a look at my newsletter.
Integrated Transport Strategy gets the green light
A strategy that provides important targets and the blueprint for an integrated, safe and efficient transport system to service and support our rapidly growing Sunshine Coast was endorsed by council in December. The strategy responds to the Sunshine Coast’s transport challenges and opportunities and outlines our vision to address the region’s transport needs. It was developed with input from the community, key stakeholder feedback and expert analysis, as well as a review of trends and changes occurring across the transport sector. For more information and to download the strategy, visit council’s website.
