Funding for local community groups
Council’s latest Major Grants round awarded more than $930,000 to 112 volunteer groups across the region. Locally we’ll see new fencing for the Rocky Creek Scout Campsite, installation of large shade structures for Glasshouse Districts Cricket Club and Baringa Football Club, new junior goal posts for Glasshouse Hinterland Australian Football Club and a large storage shed for QCWA Beerwah. Horizon Festival is back in 2021
The Horizon Festival program is out now at www.horizonfestival.com.au featuring 10 inspirational days and nights of music, visual art, theatre, dance, film, spoken word, comedy and much more from 27 August to 5 September. Songs of Gaia will be a very special event at Bankfoot House on August 28, performed as the sun sets over Mount Tibrogargan, this stunning outdoor concert celebrates the rich cultural diversity of our people and the majesty of our beautiful mother earth. And, in a first for the Sunshine Coast, the Wonderland Speigeltent will be at Cotton Tree hosting an eclectic mix of world class cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, and creative workshops.

New playground equipment for Peace Memorial Park
Landsborough kids are in for some extra fun, with the old playground equipment recently replaced at Peace Memorial Park. There are more playground upgrades planned the next 12 months including Newell Park at Beerwah and Gowen Drive at Landsborough.
