Cr Baberowski - Celebrating Harmony Week
  • Monday 15 March 2021

What an incredible announcement recently that Brisbane has been elevated to preferred city status for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It’s possible our region could host a range of events, however there is still a way to go before it’s locked in. Still, wouldn’t it be amazing to see more of our inspired local athletes potentially compete here on home soil!

Celebrate our diversity

If you’re heading out this weekend, please consider the free Harmony Day Festival at Baringa Town Square on Sunday and enjoy multicultural dance, music, cooking, conversation and Kids’ zone activities. There will also be a Japanese art workshop, Welcome to Country ceremony, and even some slam poetry. It’s on all day from 10am – 6pm so why not give it a go and explore this new area at the same time.

Have your say on council parks

What do you want to see improved or love about your local park? Whether it’s Turner Park in Beerwah, Pioneer Park in Landsborough or Glass House Mountains District Park, our exceptional parks are very special to many people for many reasons. We’re asking locals to review Council’s new Draft Recreation Parks Plan and tell us what you think. Fill out our quick survey by 6 April at haveyoursay.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au
