‘Far from this Land’ exhibition
As our thoughts turn to those who fought for our freedoms, a visit to the Landsborough Historical Museum to see the Council-funded "Far from this Land" exhibition is highly recommended. Commemorating the First World War and acknowledging its impact on the Sunshine Coast, the realities of war are told through the life experiences of four locals—soldiers Harry, James and William; and staff nurse Connie. The exhibition is open from 9am on Friday, April 17. For further details, visit www.landsboroughmuseum.org.au or phone 5494 1755.
Mooloolaba sports ground amenity upgrade
Local sporting precinct users and travellers are sure to appreciate the upgraded amenities at the Mooloolah Sports Ground. Located closer to the roadway for improved visibility and access, the new amenity block meets crime prevention through environmental design criteria. Construction should be complete by early June.
Help wage war on weeds
Our community is taking action in the fight against weeds. To learn more about the problems runaway garden plants cause to natural areas across the Sunshine Coast, come along to one of Council’s nature conservation projects—and, as a bonus, swap a bag of weeds for three native plants.
