Cribb Street Upgrade

I’m excited to let you know that the next stage of the $3.3 million Cribb Street upgrade in Landsborough will start on Monday, June 1 and run until early July. Stage 1B works include road and kerb works, driveway works, garden areas, footpath and lighting works on the business side of Cribb Street from Buck’s Bakery into part of Mill Street. To enable construction to progress as safely and quickly as possible, some changes to parking and traffic conditions are required and we thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Libraries now open

I’m sure it was welcome news for many to hear our libraries re-opened on Monday 25 May. A total of 10 customers are permitted inside each library at a time. Please ensure you continue to practice social distancing, good hygiene and please do not visit if you are feeling unwell. The Click and Collect service is also still available. The Maleny Library refurbishment is continuing and we expect to re-open the library in June.

New pathway

As always, it’s great to see further footpath linkages being delivered in our country towns. From next Monday, June 1 construction will start on a pathway on Old Gympie Rd, Beerwah from Shaws Road to Marle Court. This project will upgrade a fairly rough existing track to a formal pathway that should please the many residents who use it.  I look forward to progressively extending this and other tracks to create a better network of pathways in the future.
